The State of Alaska is pleased to invite you to the Alaska Strategic and Critical Minerals Summit on September 30, 2011, at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. This one-day event is being sponsored by the State of Alaska and the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and will highlight Alaska’s exploration and production potential for strategic and critical minerals—including Rare Earth Elements.

The agenda for the summit will include discussions concerning:  global resources and demand; Alaska’s efforts to facilitate responsible resource development and economic growth; and Alaska’s mineral potential, research fronts, and industry activity.

Presentations will be made by Governor Sean Parnell, Senator Lisa Murkowski, the U.S. Geological Survey, the Department of Natural Resources, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and industry representatives.  The summit will also include a moderated roundtable discussion with federal, state, Alaska Native, and industry officials to discuss ways Alaska can move forward on strategic mineral exploration, development and processing.  The summit will conclude with a reception at the Museum of the North on the UAF campus.

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., with reception and investor networking at 6:00 p.m.
